Mortal Kombat: Legacy - Ep. 3 - Johnny Cage

Episode 3 starts off with a biography of sorts on the failing actor Johnny Cage. Johnny has an idea for a tv series, parts of which you watch, that he is pitching to some execs. who see Mr. Cage as a dead action star. The story for this episode falls flat and the action is what you would expect from bad tv shows with the exception of a few cool bone breaking moves. The end of this episode is will give you the "I have to see the next episode" feeling. Enjoy!!

New Nintendo Console!

Nintendo Japan has announced that this June at E3 they will reveal a playable version of their next generation console. Any other details they've kept to themselves but there has been a rumored "Project Cafe" which is supposedly even more powerful than the PS3 and Xbox360.

The rumors of the design and layout are still a bit hush hush aside from the few leaked photos anyone can find on an image search engine. The controller will, possibly, be fed content directly from the console and will, again possibly, have a 6-inch touch screen display and dual analog sticks. As far as the 3D possibilities go Nintendo sees that the 3D televisions aren't quite ready and wont be a key feature yet.

We can speculate all day as to what Nintendo is trying to do with this system but hopefully for fans like myself they are looking to gain the respect back from the hardcore gamers around 18-32 years old and not focusing on the mainstream and virgin gamer market. If you want any other details or specs then you'll have to wait for this years E3 in June which is turning out to be an exciting show after all.

Beastie Boys New CD Coming Soon!

The Beastie Boys are back homie with some phat tracks to massage your eardrums with booooyyyee!!!! Their new album Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 drops May 3 but the boys have been giving fans gifts for the past month including a 30 minute video from the above trailer and yesterday they put a video up of the entire album being played from a boom box in Madison Square Gardens (visit BeastieBoysBlog). I was a bit confused though as to why Part 1 has still not been released and if you want to know the story then read this excerpt from an email they sent their fanlist on October 2010:

In what can only be described as a bizarre coincidence, following an exhaustive re-sequence marathon, Beastie Boys have verified that their new Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 will be composed of the same 16 tracks originally slated for inclusion on Hot Sauce Committee Part 1. The record (part 2 that is) will be released as planned in spring 2011 on Capitol. The tracks originally recorded for Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 (which now are actually back on Part 1) have now apparently been bumped to make room for the former Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 material. Wait, what? "I know it's weird and confusing, but at least we can say unequivocally that Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 is coming out on time, which is more than I can say about Part 1, and really is all that matters in the end." says Adam "MCA" Yauch. "We just kept working and working on various sequences for part 2, and after a year and half of spending days on end in the sequencing room trying out every possible combination, it finally became clear that this was the only way to make it work. Strange but true, the final sequence for Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 works best with all its songs replaced by the 16 tracks we originally had lined up in pretty much the same order we had them in for Hot Sauce Committee Part 1. So we've come full circle."

Rise of the Planet of the Apes Trailer

Every franchise tries to make a prequel explaining all the confusing plot holes and sets the stage for the epic story that makes a film franchise popular. Now, if you were to ask nerds what franchise they would love to see revisited as a prequel, Planet of the Apes may not even be on the top 10 or even top 50 lists. As horrible of an idea as this sounds the trailer shows a little hope that this franchise may be rebooted and possibly done well. The acting line up is the one this that personally gets us excited and the list includes James Franco, Tyler Labine (who you may know from TV series Reaper and Sons of Tucson), and also one of my favorite actor John Lithgow who plays Franco's Father. This movie will be interesting but I cant say that it will be a good movie. It is a Planet of the Ape movie after all.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy - Ep. 1

**!!Spoiler Alert!! Watch video above if you want to see before knowing !!Spoiler Alert!!**

Episode 1 of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series is finally out and it's looking damn good. Starting off with Sonya Blade infiltrating a cybernetics factory run by the evil and (I'm guessing) Australian Kano who tricks Jax and Stryker to show up to an ambush. Crazy tech guns and a lot of slow motion is used in this 12 minute short that ends with a cliff hanger we all had seen in the teaser trailer. Look for episode 2 next week. This is looking to be one of the best web series that's free to watch.

Kneel Before Zod!

Zac Snyder's Superman movie has hired its villain Michael Shannon, recently from TVs Boardwalk Empire. Michael will play the villainous Zod despite fans opinion for having a new bad guy that hasn't been feature in one of the many movies. Superman has a huge list of villains but it seems that Lex Luthor and Kryptonians are the only ones that these people can write for. That being said I feel as though this movie still has promise seeing as how David S. Goyer, the man who wrote Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, is writing the screenplay for Superman: Man of Steel. Keep your fingers crossed and maybe they'll tease Brainiac at the end like he did with the Joker in Batman Begins.
